CHESTER – Mr. Thomas D. "T.D." Neal, 87, of 979 Holmes Road passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Weeping Mary Baptist Church in White Oak with the Rev. Johnny Edwards officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Fairfield County on Feb. 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Martha Neal Bailey and Lindsey Harrison. He was a member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, former chairman of the Board of Deacons and a former choir leader. He attended the public schools of Fairfield County. He retired from Essex of Chester and was formerly employed by Chester County Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice R. Neal; and one son, Richard Toatley.
Survivors are his godchildren, the Rev. Elaine Kennedy and Thomas (Charlene) Evans; his devoted nephews and nieces, Timothy "Mickey" (Margie) Evans, Ella Rene Jordan, Erma Evans, Delphine Woodard, Van Evans, Earl (Gwen) Evans, the Rev. Vivian Evans and Thomas Williams; one sister, Alzena (Buster) Williams; brother-in-law, John (Emma) Roseborough; sisters-in-law, Marion (Ike) Beaver, Irene Roseboro and Willie Mae Roseboro; and other nieces and nephews.
King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, was in charge of arrangements.
